Dear Habib,
This is it. I’m coming clean once and for all. It’s been four treacherous months of endlessly stalking you. I had never realized that this endeavor would see me being hunted by mall security, chased by your Westmount neighbour’s pooch, having my best frilled hijab stuck in the metro doors, and spying behind the discount racks at Holts Renfrew just to figure figure out how-you-look-so-good. On your way to work in the morning, you put together your outfit within a blink of an eye, and despite your grounding modesty, you turn heads. With your elegence, confidence, and feirce determination you make Islam beautiful.
Habib, dont get me wrong, I didnt mean to intrude on your life so abruptly, but serious times call for serious measures. I coud not continue looking like a plastic recycling bag any longer, so I set out to find your secrets. I know where you find your gorgous hijabs, you flowy dress, your elegant jackets and your head turning shoes. We Hijabis have suffered for far too long, under unnessesary layers of shawls, and sweaters- and you know it. We have entered and exited a multitude of stores empty handed- imagine that?!
So this is it- I’m done. I’m going to share with Hijabis all over the world just how you do it. These posts that I’ve written are for you, as a gift of what you’ve taught me. And rest assured Habib, every thing that I went through to find your secrets, I’d do it again-any day.
Yours in faith (and fashion),
Dee

Habib, it’s simple. When you’re dressing for class, despite what they say, comfort comes first. I know, I know, we don’t live in an ideal world- but who said being comfortable meant you had to wear sweatpants and UGGs?
Here’s the deal: the best thing to do is to start with a really comfortable inner layer… usually this is a relaxed pair or pants and a long sleeved cotton shirt. Over that, layer on things that are cute but don’t effect your comfort level. The selection I’ve picked out today is practical yet so so chic! This over-sized button down shirt (could be found anywhere from H & M to Simon’s) paired with a relaxed pair of jeans (from Zara) makes a stylish duo . The large knit wrap is is a must to complete this set- without it, the outfit wouldn’t be modest enough to be seen in.
One more thing. I have to say that these loafers are the most comfortable shoes in the world. They are so cute and extremely comfortable. I could fall asleep in them. Just remember that fashion and function compliment one another perfectly
.
Love always,
Deen
